I realised that I had finally found what I had been seeking all these years, when I listened to Dr Rajith Kumar’s sermon. It seems, he has written his own Bible, Bhagavad Gita and Koran. I am not kidding. You could watch him in the following video, if you are not convinced. He is also a Biologist with a doctorate in Microbiology. And a counsellor! I should say, I am more than impressed!
I think, the interviewer in this video is a little hostile, but you cannot convert everyone, can you? Especially, not the young woman who booed and walked out. But, as Dr Kumar pointed out, she was the odd one among the 200,000 youngsters all over Kerala who listened to him, cried in repentance, and got converted. Since he is a Biologist, he also happens to know all about “genes and DNA”, as well as how “skinny jeans cause nervous disorder and gynaecological problems”. I think, it has become a habit for women’s groups in India to protest against anything and everything. Or else, why persecute this esteemed teacher who has nothing but the safety of women (and the protection of their uterus) in mind. After all, he was given the task of delivering these “moolya bodhana” lectures across the State by the Education Department, to empower women to prevent atrocities against them.
(Note: An English translation of a part of his speech is given below for non-Malayalis.)
“The male community, including myself, needs only 10 minutes, just ten minutes (pointing to himself) as a Biology medical science teacher I can say, just ten minutes, to send what is called sperm, into the uterus of a female. But for the next 10 months the child will grow in the mother’s, the woman’s womb. That is why the Holy Koran teaches that a woman should conduct herself properly. But, they (girls) don’t like it! If a boy jumps, ‘I want to jump higher’ is the girl’s attitude. If you (girls) try to jump like the boys do, you will slip and fall and hurt your backbone and your uterus will be displaced. Then you will have to go to (mentions some hospital) spend 3 to 4 lakhs to get the uterus back in place, that is if you want to have a family. If you don’t need a family, then it’s okay.”
By the way, if you are a school teacher in Kerala, and would like to invite Dr Kumar for a talk to reform your students, you will probably have to wait for a few months. He has already given his dates for 132 such talks.
